Cool autumn evenings are starting to return to the mountains. With a chill in the air, we sometimes notice a drastic change in our older pets' activity levels. "Senior" status begins around 7 years of age for most cats and dogs, but even pets as young as 5 years old can start to exhibit signs of aging in their joints. Give your pets a warm, soft place to sleep in autumn and winter. Daily glucosamine and fish oil can be very helpful in maintaining joint health, and can be combined with prescription anti-inflammatories if your four legged friend is slow to rise in the morning.
